Homework 04.29 - 05.03.13

WE START TESTING THIS WEEK!!!

Here is our testing schedule:

 May 1st- Language 1 

May 2nd- Language 2 

May 6th- Math 1 

May 7th- Math 2

 May 9th- Science 1 

May 10th- Science 2

Make sure you get a good nights rest, eat a good breakfast, have a good attitude, and most importantly come ready to DO YOUR BEST AND ROCK THE TEST! :)

Our homework for the week is to do the Math UTIPS tests.  You have a checkoff sheet on the back of your newsletter.  If you do 4 or 5 tests per night you will have ALL of the math tests done by Friday! YOU CAN DO IT!  Some of the tests only have 10 questions.

Remember to redo any test that you score below 80%.  Also, come to class ready to ask questions about any concept you don't understand.  I want to make sure you understand anything you feel you need extra help with before the test.

Homework 04.22 - 04.26.13

This week for homework you are going to be working on UTIPS reviews for our end-of-level tests.  Our tests start next week!  UTIPS will help you review so that you will do a SPECTACULAR job on those tests.

Use your check off sheet on the back of the newsletter to track the tests you take.  If you get below an 80% on a test, redo it.  If you get above an 80%, you only need to take it once.

Tonight's Assignment:

1.  Do TWO UTIPS tests in the Reading Comprehension Folder/RC Tests.  Do RC Test 3 and RC Test 4.  Write your score in Notability.  I will have you show me your scores in the morning. 

2.  ScootPad Math- 20-30 minutes.  DO YOUR BEST!

3.  READ, READ, READ!  You have a book report that is going to be due on May 17th.  Make sure that you are reading the book you told me about today in class.  You need to have it finished in time to do the report.

Homework 04.17.13

I hope you all enjoyed your day and had fun at the Swap Meet!  We only have 26 more class days left! WHAT!?!  That is crazy!  I am trying not to think about losing all of you to sixth grade.  I might cry all summer long!

Tonight's assignment:

1.  Go to IXL-Math (it is the new math app we added to your iPad) or you can CLICK HERE and link over.  Complete F.11 Multiply by 2-digit numbers AND H.10 Divide by 2-digit numbers.  Record your scores in Notability.

2.  Go to UTIPS and do the Reading Comprehension Comp Test 1.  Record your score in Notability.  REMEMBER to use the SIMPLE LOG IN! 

3.  Find a book that you want to do a book report on.  Be ready to give me the title of the book tomorrow.  Our book reports will be due on May 17th.  That gives you 4 weeks to finish the book and have the report done.  I will give you more details tomorrow.  Just make sure you have the book you want to use for the report.

4.  READ, READ, READ! Now would be a good time to read the book you have chosen for your book report.

1.  Log onto Learn Zillion and watch one of the assigned videos.  When you are done with the video I want you to go to Notability and write down which video you watched and three things you learned from the video.  REMEMBER that it shows me who has watched the videos and who hasn't, so be honest with yourself :)

2.  ALEKS- 20-30 minutes.

3.  ScootPad Language- 20-30 minutes.

If you want to go the EXTRA MILE (and who doesn't, right?) go and practice some UTIPS tests.

Tonight and tomorrow night will be the same assignment, so make sure you do HALF of the LearnZillion assignment tonight, and half tomorrow night.  Don't try and save it all for one night.  Also, we will have a test on the Learn Zillion concept of finding main idea on Friday.  So be ready! :)

1.  Log onto Learn Zillion and do the assignment that is posted.  It is about finding the main idea. 

2.  ALEKS.  20-30 minutes. 

3.  UTIPS- Do ANY of the Language Arts quizzes.

Here is what I want you to do tonight:


1.  ScootPad- Math and Language.  Do ScootPad for 15-20 minutes.  You can do math or language.  I will let you decide what you think you need the most help with and choose.

2.  ALEKS.  Do ALEKS for 20-30 minutes.  Do your best!

3.  READ, READ, READ!  Read for 30 minutes (or more).

PS- REMEMBER TO BE HONEST ABOUT YOUR HOMEWORK!  When I checked the minutes that some of you have told me you have done on ALEKS/ScootPad compared to what is actually logged on the apps, there was a SIGNIFICANT difference for some of you.   Please make sure you are doing your BEST work and that you are being honest with me and yourself about what you are actually doing.  :)

4. UTIPS- Choose any math quiz and complete it. Record your score and put in in Drop Box. You can just put your score on the bottom of the page about the 3 things you learned from the video.
